Posts: 143 Location: Kentucky | I went to Green River Lake in the 14th of March. The lake was being drawn down back to winter pool at a rate of 1.2 feet per day. The water temp on the main lake was 45, and I found 47.5 degree temps up in the main creek arms. I didn't do any good, this was my first time to Green, I usually fish Cave Run and our local river's. I talked to some guy's from Minnesota too, they had been down here for two day's and hadn't done any good. It was tough fishing the other day. Now they have stopped pulling the lake down, and the air temp has been is the high 60s for afew day's. The lake should turn on big time in a couple of day's, if not already. You guy's should come on down! Maybe you could show this southern boy how to catch a muskie on Green River Lake. Any tip's? Major creek arm's or Main Lake? Do you think the male's will move up in the spawning flat's soon? I'll be waiting at the boatramp. Chris

Not sure when the fish go into the spawing ritual there, but when they do the males will be everywhere in the shallows. Wish I could take you up on that offer..

Posts: 143 Location: Kentucky | It's funny you should mention Gregg Thomas, I have been looking for his report's to start on his website. No such luck as of yet. A buddy and I booked with him on the 13th of April. I am sure I will learn alot from Gregg and have a great day. The fever got ahold of me and I couldn't wait any longer. So, I am jumping into the new lake head first. I will probably head back down there on Thursday orFriday. It got about 70 degrees here today and it is suppose to hold steady for afew more day's. I know they will turn on. I just have to find them. You sure you all wouldn't want to join me?

Posts: 291 Location: Mokena, IL | Fished Green river from Friday to sunday afternoon raising 1 fish an missing a fish trolling. Fishing was slow. fish were not on the flats yet.... water temp was 45 degrees when we arrived and was up to 56 degrees at the surface when we left. Water was somewhat stained but that is somewhat normal for that body of water. Saw gregg on the water with clients all 3 days and I beleive he boated a one fish Friday and one on Saturday. The water level was being dropped about 1 foot each day which may have effected the fishing. I was told they were going to be done dropping the level on Sunday which should stabalize the lake within a few day. I would concentrate on sunny flats fishing 2-5ft of water very soon. Wish i could have spent a couple more days down there as I beleive they will be turning on very soon. Saw the funniest thing Saturday, a catfish was following directly behind the boat at the surface for about a minute, not sure what to make of that. Weather was beautiful and was able to see a couple eagles. Doc
