Hi, I am looking to put a new WTB Topic in the Buy & Sell section about buying some specific leaders, but before. I'd like to know what would be the best leaders to work:

1- Gliders, specially Phantoms 6'' and 7.5''

2- Bull Dawgs and Medussa Magnum and Pounder/Monster size.

I am not necessarly looking to buy a specific brand, but mostly would like to know size, length, material, swivel or not, etc. Although, if you know someone that produce top of the line leaders for the use I'm trying to do, please share the information

Should have thought about this before as opener is Friday!!

Thank you,
Alex

For jerk & glide baits I use #174 Single strain American Fishing Wire and match the leader size to the size of the bait. Solid ring on one end of the leader and I keep a split ring on each bait. Tie the leader directly to the line and solid ring to the split ring.

I started using 180# for dawgs a few years back and it has worked out great. One of the main reasons is if I got a dawg-ball it would kink my wire leaders. Flouro is stiff enough it gives it good action and stays out of the way but still flexible enough it doesn't damage on a fouled bait. Seems to work just fine with my phantoms as well but as Brian was eluding to that some leader component weights (particularily a gigantic barrel swivel) can kill the action of the smaller baits.

What about the Stealth Stran Wire Walk the Dog Leader #174
http://www.muskytackleonline.com/stealth-tackle/stealth-tackle-walk...

and

Stealth Premium Wire Leader?
http://www.muskytackleonline.com/stealth-tackle/stealth-tackle-prem...

Any good for what I'm looking for? Looks to be pretty close to what Brian was suggesting.
