I have a 9 foot mh ti and love it. I have a st.croix premiere 8 ft heavy and a 8 ft 6 in xh mi rod but primarily use the ti whenever I can. I love throwing big bucktails and gliders, the question I have is would the slingblade work for gliders or is the jerk the only way to go for gliders?

I use the sling blade for gliders once and a while, the bigger ones anyway.

I prefer the Jerk or Big Dawg for most, although the SB is great for certain baits; little phantoms, suicks, jackpots, 6" reef hawgs, eddies.

The 8' Premiere you already have is a perfect glider rod, better than any LT in my opinion.

I do use a slingblade for phantom softails and it is just fine, but I would rather use that 8' Premiere.

I have both and I use my Jerk for gliders, jerks, WTD baits and I love it. I started a thread awhile back about longer rods for glide / jerk baits and it seems lots of guys are using them. I tried throwing smaller phantoms and Hellhounds with a 9' TI rod and just couldn't get the action I wanted but it did work pretty good for bigger phantoms. I just bought a sling blade this year and absolutely love this rod. The split grip was the ticket for me. Awesome bucktail, topwater, and crank bait rod.
