| Just picked up a Lexa 400H, and on the side there is a dial with settings for 1 through 10. Is there a specific setting this should be at, or an "all purpose" setting this should be at? Looking to throw double 10s, topwater propbaits, and rubber baits.
Any suggestions? Thanks |

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | I would start out pretty high since there are no centrifugal brakes in this reel. They look solid (i have one in the shop now), but I prefer reels with centrifugal brakes because they are more forgiving. I would set it at 8 or 9 and start there. I also fish my reels with the "spool tension" knob adjusted only to the point where the spool has no endplay. |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Each reel will be different, so set the brake dial on 10 and start casting and back off the drag 1 number at a time till the reel starts to backlash then turn the dial up 1 or 2 clicks from there.
Always keep the cast control knob on the loose side, so the spool has no endplay. |
