I'm new to lure making and for my molds I'm using high strength 2 silicone from alumisol and that stuff is not cheap. I was wondering what you guys use for one and two piece molds. Is there a cheaper alternative or do I just need to suck it up and spend the money on silicone.

Try Smooth On products...Its a bit cheaper...HOWEVER, in the long run, you can get a lot of pours from one mold with the proper care and treatment. I personally think its pretty cheap over the long haul!

You could always print out the 40% off coupon from Hobby Lobby & buy the Alumisol silicone from there.

Has anyone had an issue with the Alumilite Spray Mold Release not working on the Smooth on RTV? That happened to me last night...

If you're using smooth on products no mold release will work beside theirs. I found that out just like you, the hard way.
