Hey Guy's, some really good advice in the antenna question- get the best you can find!

However, that got me to thinking. Why don't we have a fixed marine frequency for muskie fisherman? There is an obvious one that a lot of guy's pick (69).  It's nice to have a special MuskieFirst freq for each MF outing. But what about a MuskieFirst freq for those times you drop on a lake alone.  You could tune to it and be hailed or hail other MF boats if you need asistance, chat, share info, etc....  Maybe even promote it as the muskie fisherman's marine radio help line!

My pick would be 65 (The probable length of the next WR)

Al, channel 69 "is" the muskie channel. We started that early 2001 when we fished the PMTT. We have used this channel everywhere from the great lakes to inland. My radio is on everytime I am in my rig, so if you want to talk to me I will be on channel 69. The Extreme One !!!

Mike is right Al; use the # of your age and it will be easier to remember!;) I have no marine radio personally...I find me musical tastes rest w/ the local bird and insect population, and most often talk to myself. Being so far away from musky land would make it difficult to converse, so I'll have to settle for a Radio Shack transistor...
