| Anybody using a high abrasion resistant mono like Berkley Big Game instead of Flourocarbon for leaders? I saw an InFisherman where they were using 80 Big Game for trolling leaders. Will this hold up? |

| For trolling I have been using a 4 foot leader made from 50 pound big Game.
For the last 7 or 8 years, so far so good. I never tried them shorter for casting. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I have used 80lb. Big Game leader material for the last 2 years without a failure, but yes it does get nicked up from use. But the price is right, so I just make new ones when they get nicked up.

| Dude, Steve Heiting showed us a trick for the large diameter mono/fluoro knots...a drop of KY Jelly will keep the line cooler and make it easier to cinch the knot. I have the fl/carb leaders, but like the big G also and use both... |

| ALWAYS use some type of lubricant, whether it be spit etc...mono gets HOT when you cinch the knot! |
