Location: South Central Wisconsin | I have a set of these and use them for walleyes and muskies. I am currently running mono on my musky rods but want to switch over to 80# power pro. Will the factory clips hold the line or are you guys changing the clips somehow? |

| I would put on the Lock jaw snaps for braid. I use them and they work awesome... |

Location: oswego, il | You can use.the regular clips with 80lb braid no problem. The standard clips do wear out with any line. I do plan on upgrading to the locking clips. |

| Its stupid (IMHO) that they do not come stock. If you are using a board that big they should comoe with the better snap even if its raises the price a buck or two.... Just on fisherman's opinion.... but they are the best out there.... |

| Is the OP referring to the TX44 or the smaller boards? I would get the TX44 for musky fishing, they can handle the really hard pulling cranks. Per Mojo, the LockJaw snap is the way to go. Even then you will want to wrap it. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I use the regular Church Tackle Boards with the stock clips. I've trolled big baits along the lines of 12" Custom X and 14" Jakes. There have been just a couple times in big waves that the clip has released the line and the board slides back to the bait.
With that said, I troll almost never, and haven't actually caught a fish with the boards out so I can't say too much about their performance. |

| Scotty 1170 (has cable with clip) or 1177 (just a shower curtain type clip on the snap)
I use the 1170 and change their clip to caribiners that I get at the dollar store. Their real easy to handle and clip on the line, especially in the fall when the hands become a bit clumsy.
I've pulled plows with these and have not had an issue. Move the line back further depending on the drag of the bait. There is also a clip on it that allows you to double the holding power. |

| I haven't had a problem with the factory clips and I'm trolling 13 and 14 inch lures. Then again it wont hurt to beef up the clips |
