Posts: 32960 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I found out this week the Coast Guard and DNR require that the bow light on all fishing boats must clear the trolling motor by enough to be clearly seen from forward, port, and starboard. Take a look at your light. If the motor blocks it, you could be looking at a potential ticket from your local warden.

Posts: 78 Location: Pardeeville, WI | Where can I get a longer one? I looked at cabelas and basspro and they only have a max of 12 inches. I need at least an 18 inch light. Any suggestions?

I would sure like to know if anyone finds a taller bow light, I've never seen one. The other alternative would be to mount separate port and starboard lights on the front/sides of the boat. This must be done with careful measuring as Coast Guard requires visibility of both lights for a specified distance and angle.

It appears that Perko makes a 10" only Attwood makes a 10" and 14" straight or bent pole.....also a 12 I think. 14" looks to be the tallest, check to see what kind of base you have, if Perko, may have to change it to Attwood.

Posts: 1438 | Greg is there a difference in the connecting end of the light sticks. I thought that was an industry standard. Meaning, you should be able to use Attwood posts in Perko bases and vice-versa. I could be wrong on that though. Scott

Posts: 1189 Location: Bagley,MN 56621 | It looks like they are different bases and pole ends between the 2 companies. I also went to Attwood's website yesterday and couldn't find the 14" listed, but it is in our parts book.
