Do you guys worry about the color of line you use? Ive seen some guys using green, some white/black and some blue. Any rhyme or reason? Stained vs clear water, etc?

I use Cortland masterbraid bronze, tuffline black/white spot and Powerpro green all for various reel types but have found no concerns to water clarity or musky preferences.

I started using the PowerPro in the Timber Brown and it really fades into the background on most of the lake I fish. Even some of the clear lakes it wasn't a problem. That "translucent" line was basically white and stood out all the time.

Started muskie fishing with white dacron then Guedbroad green spot then black Muskie Master no difference. Why would there be with a solid wire leader.

I prefer Hi-vis yellow. I can see it better and the fish don't care. A Muskie is not smart enough to understand what fishing line is and why it is tied to that big hunk of metal and plastic it is getting ready to eat.

I'd be more worried about what color my rod tip section is during the figure 8.

Of course i don't care what color my rod or line is. I used hi-vis yellow for stream trout and that worked in those clear waters. The muskies can't think why is that bright line color is pulling that chunk of wood with hooks on through the water. That said i select a line that performs and gives me fewer problems when I cast. It make for an more enjoyable day on the water rather than a line that they can't see and I have to fight with it..

I have 54, 53, & 51 reasons why I agree line color doesn't matter. If they can see the white stuff, then I must have caught some of the more dumb muskies in Eagle Lake.

If they don't care about the giant treble hooks attached to the thing they're eating they shouldn't care about the piece of line that's in front of the invisible leader that's in front of the thing they're eating.

well put,i would add black line have caught tons of musky since years so............
that being said the line colors that would be the less visible would be red certainly not green or black.but once again fish don't care
