What is the difference between these two lures? I know they're different companies. Is it kind of like a sea calf and manta?

The Fred is very similar to a weighted sledge. I thew a Fred for the first time this spring on the Cave. I liked it but didn't move anything on it, but we didn't move anything at all so....

Haha I just got back from the cave sunday. Was there Thursday through Saturday. We didn't have any luck either. I threw a sledge quite a bit and was just curious the differences.

That's a shame I saw they dragged some nice fish out of there the past couple of days! I got one of those pink Freds from overstockbaits.com. It was cheap and I didn't expect much but I think this bait will catch some fish. Just like a sledge though you really have to work it to keep it in the strike zone. I might even add a 1oz bell sinker to the front hook hanger like I do on my sledges.

Yes I was really impressed with the sledge. It was the unweighted version. Like you said I would like something a little deeper as well so I will be looking for the weighted versions
