Well, Yesterday was my b-day. I went out last week and bought myself a Calcutta 400d as a present for myself, low and behold I got a lexa 400 pwr-p from my dad last night for a present. (sweet)

Now I'm trying to debate about what one to keep or maybe sell one of my other reels. and have some funds for baits or something later down the line.

Current reels
revo toro 50 NaCl 5.4.1 (1 season old)
revo toro 60 winch 4.6.1 (2 seasons old)
abu 6500 (trolling) (5 seasons old)

New
Calcutta 400d 5.1.1
Lexa 400 pwr-p 5.1.1

Rod's 9 ft st Croix, 8.5 ft st Croix, 7.5 ft st Croix mojo 7 ft shimano

Was thinking maybe the lexa 400 could replace the winch? I feel like both the lexa and Calcutta will pretty much be the same reel, but they are all around reels.

For what it is worth...
I'd keep 'em all. Never know when you will need one because another needs a good clean/lube job. Or breaks down.

My simple math tells me that you have 4 rods. 5 rods.
You may want to check out the buy/sell adds and pick up another rod.

You could just grab another rod. There have been some good deals on rods on the boards lately.

I've thought about it, I usually fish for Walleye's more then Muskies though, not sure I need all these rods, but then again you can never have too many.

I agreee with keeping them all but if you had to/really wantesd to lose one I would ditch the Lexa and keep the Calcutta D. The D is far in a way the best out of the lot. THe Lexa is very similar to the Toro's; both great reels but not in the same class as the calcutta D.

It's nice to have back ups. I brought a guy out with me for the day when i was up to vermilion. He got the mother of all back lashes. Just pulled out one of my back ups he was back fishing.

Ditch the winch. The 400 pwrP covers that and more.

Nope. I'm with mojo, keep those toros and that Calcutta and sell the lexa if you must get rid of one at all.Id just get another rod to put it on for backup if it was me.Definatly keep the toros there tuff as nails, we know it.I know of a few with hundreds of hours on them.Lexa, maybe, ppl have tested them for a short time now, we'll find out in the long run.they do look nice.If someone gave me one for my bday, I'd buy another rod and use it.even if I had 10 combos already.

Two thoughts ... take advantage of the surprise gift and add another pole to gain a new combination. Or in response to your specific question ... sell your lexa (keep the winch) and use the dollars to replace one or both of your rods shorter than 8'.

I wish I had such a dilemma! Keep both reels and find another rod. Never hurts to have one more rig ready to throw out after a follow or when coming to a different structure type.

Ditch the winch, or sell the Lexa for a higher geared Lexa. You have nothing high speed.

It never hurts to have a back up reel. Spool it up and take it with you. Something goes wrong you flip it with the problem see reel and your back to fishing in 2 minutes.

An extra reel is a great plan. I always have one in the boat just in case.

That's kinda what I was leaning towards, exchange the lexa for a HS reel, and possibly sell the winch.

Thats what I'd do. That 400D will pull blades just fine. Winch is unnecessary, and you can use that Lexa 400 for rubber, jerks, or anything else where you need pickup

Sell the gift from your Dad? Hell no!!
Lose the winch (the most useless reel of the lot, imo) and cherish the EXTREMELY thoughtful gift from your father forever.

Changing the gear set in the winch and/or lexa could be an option as well rather than selling/taking a loss.
