| Just wondering if people out there use a nacl for throwing pounders, and other big rubber baits, and how they hold up? I know the tranx would be the best option, and the lexa looks great for the money, but just to soon to tell how that lexa is going to hold up over time. Any other options out there? Thanks! |

| The reel will hold up fine. When you rip big stuff you may want to thumb the spool to save on the AR bearing and don't engage while the bait is in flight. Other than that you shouldn't have any problems. |

| if you like to palm your reel. Revo toro is one of the best options imo. The tranx is an awesome piece of machinery but the inability to palm it is its only flaw. I own a lexa300 aswell and like it but not a huge fan of magnetic brakes. i know two guys who have been throwing pounders with a lexa 300 since the 300 came out. Not one of them has broke yet. but we will see. No experience with the lexa400 but i am sure one will be on my deck before the opener. |

No problems palming the tranx for me at 5'10" with avg size hands.
Also, I believe you can turn the brakes off on the lexa 300. |

| I've looked at the curado 300ej also, any input on that reel?? Just don't know much about it, the recovery is around 32 inches per crank, a little more than the nacl. |

I wouldn't recommend a curado for pounders. It's a nice reel for sure, just not for really big stuff. |

| The 300ej is my most used reel, it does most things great. Pounders might be a asking a bit much. BR |
