I'm getting a newer boat...a 17.5' deep V boat and am looking at upgrading to a Terrova. Any big advantage of getting a 60" shaft over a 54" shaft?

Thanks!

Go with the longer shaft. When the boat is bouncing in a good chop, those extra inches can mean having the prop in the water rather than in air.

I just went through the same process. 60 for sure, I don't believe the I -pilot or link even come in a 54". It is either 45 or 60.

I have had 60" before, one big advantage not mentioned is if you leave the head stick up about 6 to 10 inches you don't have to bend down so far to grab it to retract it. Over a long day that adds up.

Have a good day.
