I'm beginning my fourth season with Navionics Hotmaps Platinum and have never updated the maps. Are there enough changes to make updating important? Any idea of the cost? (Can't find cost info online.)

I believe you can download the "freshest data" for a $60, one year subscription. But in four years I can't imagine there have been vast changes.

That's my concern. When they had the older desktop app, about the only changes were in the form of waypoints where someone said they'd caught a crappie. Not something I'd want to pay $60 for. To this day many popular lakes and reservoirs remain uncharted. Too bad.

The web app I think has the latest data. Check it out and see if much has changed.

Yeah, I wouldn't waste your money. Unless we get some active glaciers moving around, the general makeup of the currently mapped lakes aren't going to change much. The only important info that might be available would be previously unmarked hazards.

Yep the WebApp has the latest mapping the biggest changes will be when you click on the Sonar icon on the lower left, this is the Sonar Charts or Fish n Chip layer that is the dynamic map layer that changes and updates as sonar logs are updated available on Nav + and Hotmaps Platinum.
