Just wondering if any neighbors from pa have been getting lines wet lately? Weather has been pretty mild. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend. My expectations are low but I'm just itching to get on the water. Maybe ill get "lucky"

We're still frozen up here. The middle channel in the local river is thawing, but I wouldn't run a boat in it yet.

Same out here in eastern Pa. All the lakes are frozen. The rivers are all most fishable but the still two feet of snow on the ramps.Maybe in two or three weeks.

Yeah it sucks. I'm going to wade out a couple creek mouths on the Ohio. Conditions aren't favorable but perhaps a 5" suspended jerkbait slow retrieve may entice other species to keep up morale. Always hoping for a ski though

I am getting the itch as well. here are a few pics that help keep my head on strait. Open water is just around the corner... but all honesty I hope this cold holds out till the Muskie Max show. I need to keep my nose to the grind stone to rebuild inventory. After that bring on the warmer weather!

Not a musky but I picked up this whitey. Not bad first fish of the year for having low expectations

Nice catches anzomcik. Those wouldn't happen to be from French Creek would they?

Some, not all of them, I have a folder with several times the amount of pics I posted on my computer that I look at, those fish come from many rivers here in PA. I move around a lot put a lot of miles on the truck, knock on a lot of doors, spend hours on Google earth looking, scoping out tax maps to see who owns what land that might look good. A lot of trial and error with scouting, I almost have more fun with the fall, winter, spring bank fishing as I do whitetail hunting. It turns into an obsession quickly

Right now I am froze solid, but the warm up on the horizon next weekend, I hope it happens and starts a trend of warmer weather.

Allegheny ice is slowly but surely clearing out. Should be good to go just in time for the show next weekend.

Going to try some shore fishing the Allegheny around Warren if I can get into some spots without ice. Been working like crazy a lot of miles and I'm so ready to do something other than driving....like fishing !! :-))

Yes that is one of the first softtails I made. That pic was taken in the spring of 2013, that was a good catch to even see that in that photo. I was solo that day so that's the best pic I could do with what I had.

I fished from shore on the Allegheny River Tuesday before the front came it clouded up and BP dropped. 56 degrees out, thought it was a good time to get out. Fished five hours....no hungry fish. Worked Jerkbaits and Crankbaits real slow, must not of hit the feeding window. Wednesday it was 3 degrees here a 53 degree differential from the day before. Still had a great time being out on a warm day her in NW. Pa.
