| You should be able to reuse the old power cable and just splice into it.
You will need to pull the transducer cable through, I'm assuming you are going to mount it on the transom near the big motor. Every boat is different and there will likely be an electrical switch board or maybe the gas line shut off panel or something you can temporarily remove to help with access.
If you plan to trash the old depth finder, I suggest cutting the old transducer off and then use the old cable as a pulling line to install the new transducer cable. Pull easy. if it gets stuck pull back in the opposite direction a bit and just keep working it. Eventually you will get it fished through. If you don't plan to trash the old transducer then use the transducer cable to pull through a pulling line, then proceed as before, just one extra step.
I'd bet you will need to use the new bracket, I bet the old one doesn't fit. |
