I'm just wondering if you guys use green bucktails? I make my own bucktails and bought a bunch of different types of green flashabou. I just can't get my self to make any and throw them. I love the perch pattern baits but for some reason it's just not the same on a bucktail... what color blades would you use and stained water or clear? Thanks!

I always wanted to make a green with copper blades, but never got around to it. Green works great! Bass are green so its a natural pattern.

Mix of green, orange, black with orange blades for perch.

black, green and gold with gold blades for a bass.

Id fish those both in clear water.

You could always go over the top and keel weight the bucktail so it doesn't spin on retrieve.
Tie on some white/cream for the belly on the weighted side, layer your greens with the darker colours towards the top.
Tying near the keel weight makes the skirt flare a little more.
Then, spread the flashabou out a little, make a cardboard template & shoot some plastic friendly dark/black paint on the greens to add bars/contrast.
Can't go wrong with gold or firetiger blades and copper's all the rage.
Plan B involves selling the flashabou to me and using the cash to go buy some Ghost Tails in their perch or bluegill patterns.
They look amazing!

I made a green one with hair and tinsel that is a dark green and a lime green with matching color blades for a lake that seems only green lures work. It's very clear water.

I had Gerry's Girls make me a smallmouth pattern that looks awesome! He even put red eyes on the blades. It was a copper and gold blade/green brown white tinsel tail. Don't have a pic right now. I can get one if you like though when I get home.

Nice job Randy. Good color combinations, and a nice touch with the hammered Copper blades. I'd use that one, and another one with 1 hammered copper blade, a hammered dark green blade (color similar to the Spanky's above), and a skirt with the colors you've used above with some black in it. Both of those would get some action on Perch forage lakes.
