I just picked up my fishing bud from the Vet. Had to amputate a portion of his paw due to bone tumors. Bailey (7 year old yellow lab) has been with me since he could be in a boat. Recovery time is 3 to 4 months. Hope biopsy comes back clean.

At least he is still with you. We just had to put down our 9 year old Black Lab due to kidney failure...I miss my buddy!

I'm sure he'll be cruising in your boat with his ears flapping in the wind by summer. Best of luck, I hope the recovery goes well.

he will appreciate getting back out with you and good therapy for both. I wish you both many more years together. I have a 13 year old Brit that has been my companion since I bought him. He fishes, kayaks, rides ATV, hunts, traps and sleeps with me. If I am in a boat he is there too. I know his days are numbered but he has been the best retirement buddy a man could ever have.

I'll say a prayer for Bailey, sure hope he recovers and lives many, many more years for you !! I have two elderly dogs, one is almost 15 yrs. and the other 14 years of age. Both a huge part of our family and don't want the time to come for them, however none of us will get out of it so I enjoy our time together.

Well biopsy came back bad. Bailey had bone cancer and will have to go through chemo most likely. Meeting with oncolgist on Thursday before I leave for PA Musky Max show, Hope they can treat him! Rough time only being 7 years old.

Thanks guys for all the well wishes.
