A few weeks back I put up a challenge to Stan Durst: "Can you paint better than ____ ______ (name w/held to protect the innocent)????" I now bow to the painting abilities of Stan Durst and Durst products.....for more of his works of artistry, go to www.durstproducts.com (plug plug)!

I second your opinion Slamr. I just got 3 baits from him on Monday. They are awesome.

Just got my first durst bait. A Sunset Carp Believer. Looks great. Lots of carp in the lake I fish and I already have confidence this bait will catch a few fish this year.

I have six of his baits and they are all awesome! One of my favourites is the mystic frog color! It changes color from green to blue when you turn the lure in the sunlight and the frog spots look like perchbars in the water

Got my dozen back from him two days ago, and already cracked a 22 lber on his custom painted jackpot.  Took awhile to get them, but I now see it was worth the wait.  Great job!

Slamr they look great. What are those two gliders called on the lower left? The crankbait on the upper right? I do not have these baits. You cannot own a bait I do not already own. It's just not right.

Todd,
The bait on the far corner on the left is a new, soon to be released bait that Durst let me give a shot at.....moved a 40" about 15 minutes into throwing it. It's a European bait and I'mnot sure if Stan has anymore to sell yet. Call him, buy 2, then you can say you have more than me. The other glider you asked about, can't recall exactly the name. And the crank in the upper right hand corner, thats a Super Shad Rap from Rapala....small bait company, hard to find.

Far left upper is a Phantom isn't it?

Yep, upper left is a Phantom in Durst's stock Firetiger, the lower right is the Darter bait.

Must be a bad angle on the shad rap, the body looks slimmer. Thanks for the info, cool baits.

Is the one on the bottom left one af Divani's baits? I saw one once up at Cass and it looked similar...

Do you send him the baits or does he already have them and then paints them to your likings?

Thanks,
divani

phish killer, no it isn't. But maybe it's time I got slamr a bait of mine. If he takes the time to email me, I will make him one ... provided he's interested of course.

Divani - you have mail!

Brett - Stan has baits that he sells with his colors on them, you can send him your lures for re-painting in those colors, or you can send him pics or descriptions of what you would like to see your baits re-painted in...and he'll match'em up like a champ!

some of the baits I have from 'Stan the man' are crane baits, a tuff shad and a muskie mania magic make. He has painted these in his own colors. He does all sorts of lures like suicks, bobbies, ... and it's best to email him to ask about any lures he has in stock at the moment. Like Slamr says, it's a good idea to have a look at Stan's website! And he does custom colors as well, not just the ones shown on his website.

ps: look out for an update on his website for new colors.

Divani's baits are top notch. I really need to get some more from him. He is one heck of a painter himself.
