Will the down imaging work with the transducer in my power drive? Or does it have to use a different transducer to get the DI to work thanks

DI will not work with a Universal Sonar.

It will not work as down imaging, you can use it as 2D tho and there is a way in the options menu to set the pages to eliminate the Di screens

I'm predicting in the next 2 years minnkota will sell a di ducer in there motors based on the popularity of them. Also for casting speed the down imaging may be more like 2D anyway ...

With the down imaging on the trolling motor it can get washed out when the trolling motor turns as well.

I have a question for those using the elite on the bow. how does the gps follow when going slow. I know my lcx38chd sucked. The arrow just spun circles and couldnt follow when crawling at casting speeds. My HDS8 is great.

Thanks,
Todd Yester

my elite7's (2) both work great at all speads, only benifit of my hds is start up time is shorter, i have herd the talk that the gps is "jumpy" and as far as location i havent seen it. but maybe on sertain days (cloudy?) the gps speedo mayyyyy jump a bit at speeds slower than 1.3 mph, dont care when i am casting...

now maybe a hummiinbird 859 for $650 is a way to go, 7 inch screen like the elite, but if you look at the potential benifits of a LAKEMASTER brand chip to boot it may help you see your casting targets easyer, shallow water highlight, target depth highlight, water table adjustable.... look at this pic for a visual referance

dads boat has the elites, mine has a hds and a 959 to link up with my troller to drive its self, i opperate my dads boat when we are out

I ran 2 hdi's all last year. They work great at all speeds and never had trouble with it getting "washed out". I have the lo profile hdi transducer mount. Works awesome.
