Posts: 637 Location: S.W. WI | If I recall correct.....At the time ( about 8 yrs ago probably?) it was a new version of Dawg that had some new color patterns, a scale pattern molded in & with a softer plastic (probably too soft) I still have a few but don't believe they have been made for about 5-6 yrs ? new ones are much better. -Jon

I think they also ended up with clear coats on them too a few years ago. Overall, a nicer version of the standard BD. LOL I don't think the fish cared much though, they both got eaten

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I think at the time they were made, they lasted 12 casts, unlike the 20-24 that the standard Dawgs lasted. I don't think they've been made for a while. Most of the current Dawgs look more like the old Uptowns anyway. New ones have clear coat, shiny stick on eyes, etc, and they hold up to casting and don't get destroyed by one fish. After some fishing time and a couple fish, the eyes will likely be gone and most of the clear coat too. Then you'll realize that that stuff isn't really needed to catch fish.

Posts: 637 Location: S.W. WI | Ya Curly, Kinda true bout 12-20 casts on them old ones. I love Dawgs, Especially the new ones, but don't like or use the new clear coated ones. I prefer the Economy Dawgs and the Customs Dawgs that use different colored plastic and not much (if any) paint and NOT clear coated. (that sticky clear coat bugs me) Also, All the Economy Dawgs and customs (MTO & the show colors) that I've got are made in USA. I kinda like that....... and they work too- so that helps. -Jon
