I am moving to NC shortly and need to sell all my gear. I need some help naming and pricing things. Does anyone know the best resource to do that? Im fairly new to muskie fishing and not familiar with things, I would just buy what guys would tell me was good for my yearly vermilion trips. Most of my stuff is new or lightly used. Thanks guys

Posts: 537 Location: Gilberts IL/Rhinelander WI | There are Muskie in NC aren't there? Musky shop catalog is a good reference. Don't expect more than 50-70% in resale, regardless of condition. Otherwise different websites like MTO, Big Wood among others. Start lower to sell them quicker. Higher to get more money but it will get dragged out longer.

Not that I'm aware of, but I havent searched every lake. I bass fish 99% of the time, so really these will just collect dust.

Posts: 62 | there is a guy here named Derek, goes by NCMusky, which tells you at least one guy thinks there are ski's in NC. haaa Maybe you want to shoot him a pm, he seems like a pretty nice guy, and he has posted some healthy fatties on here. (not saying that he is gonna give up any prime real estate, but he might point you in the right direction. who knows, you might have a river right in your back yard that's holding. I know for a fact there are at least five rivers and a few reservoirs that have skis in them in NC., and there are some ginormous stripers in some of those same drinks. They use 6-12 inch shad and some likely topwaters to get them. You might want to at least keep one heavy rig. otherwise the swap meets are coming up as well. that is a real quick way to liquidate, and folks there will sure let you know if your stuff is priced wrong ! ha You could just bring your stuff there and get a feel for it, or ask for offers. Good Luck ! TomT

Posts: 42 | If you prefer the traditional lake style fishing either trolling or casting then the only decent opportunity in NC is Lake Adger in Polk County. NC state record muskie came from there and it gets regular stocking. Keep in mind that the lake has a 60HP maximum, so if your boat has a higher HP motor than that, you won't be able to use it on Adger. There is a public boat launch there. If river fishing is more your thing, then try the French Broad River in Buncombe County, the New River in Ashe and Alleghany Counties or the Nolichucky River in Yancey County. These are not large or deep rivers and you will need a small jon boat or river skiff to navigate them. All of those locations are currently stocked with muskies. There are also possibly remnant populations of muskies in a few other lakes and rivers. These areas may have formerly been stocked by NC or may currently be stocked by neighboring states, but not in NC. They may also be connected to waters that currently have populations. These waters may or may not have a fishable population. They include Lake James, Catawba River (at Lake James), Fontana Lake, Little Tennessee River, Hiwassee Lake, Cane River (flows into Nolichucky), Green River (below Lake Adger).
