Posts: 104 | Blue bird skies and no wind for the remainder of the tournament. Reports still coming in with mid forty inch fish, doubles and triples and steady reports, should go tight to the end.

| Most of the bait was on the canadian side so fishing was very good over there, however during the pmtt we were restricted to american waters, and the water was still a little warm so the fish had not started migrating in big numbers towards the rivers so it made the fish on the american side hard to find in numbers, still though 35 boats and almost 30 fish caught thats a great ratio anywhere, congrats to the winners | |||

Posts: 402 Location: Eagle River, WI | That was some tough fishing this week. It's really hard to sit there and stare over the border and know you could go there and stick mutiple fish everyday. I did get a pretty nice tan though. Nicest tan I've ever had in October.

I fish LSC pretty often and like any lake it can be tough. Some days she gives it up and other days it is just a nightmare. I know they had great and stable weather and everyone was safe so that makes it a success.

| A lot depends on what water they were fishing it is a big lake to cover with judge boats so I am sure some prime water was out as far as the tournament. I guess after all all you have to do is show up and the fish will bite, that is what makes this such a challenge for anybody fishing muskie. Way to go to all who caught fish and to those that did not I know how hard you worked thus you have musky fishing. | |||

| Well done by all teams. Big Congrads to Mark and Adam....that is a big piece of water to conquer and figure out. Well Done! I am always impressed how someone figures it out...very impressed. There are some VERY good Musky Anglers out there....especially on the PMTT. | |||

| The Canadian side is usually always better for numbers and size in summer and fall. If you asked all 35 teams, would you rather fish the American side for 3 days or the Canadian side for 1 day, I bet majority would pick Canadian side for 1 day as they would catch more in 1 day then the American side. | |||

| Sounds like you just need to figure out how to fish the American side a little better. Find better spots, fish more spots, etc. There are fish there and lots of them. Instead of fishing 2 spots and catching 4 fish on the canadian side you might have to fish 4 spots to catch 4 fish in the same amount of time on the us side. Make sense? It is a different style of fishing is all. You can only make so many casts but you have to make sure you are making the right casts more often on the us than the canadian side. How are guys supposed to figure out the american side if they are always going to the canadian side because the fish are easier to catch? | |||

Posts: 415 | Sounds like you should have been fishing in this "troll everywhere." Gotta love the armchair quarterbacks. Spencer is a good guy and great angler, but jeez people lets not turn him into this Tim tebow-like figure. His "fans" on these boards gush about him like he's gods gift to fishing. I have absolutely nothing against spencer and if I were hiring a casting guide he'd probably be my choice, but there were and still are guys who can put up numbers like him on LSc, they just aren't out there promoting it. Posts: 310 Location: Lake St.Clair | Agreed there are plenty of great Fisherman out there. Berman is one of the tops but there are plenty well educated and great guides. The local tourny fish that my buddys uncle and joel caught was a pig over in canada 51" 42lber I believe if remeber correctly, fish had shoulders on top of shoudlers. Big fish can be caught either side but you see a lot more numbers and size in canadian water.

I figured Mr. Berman would have a hay day and couldnt wait to see the results. Edited by Slow Rollin 10/16/2013 7:36 AM

| Like I posted above in the summer and fall there are usually bigger and more fish on the Canadian side. There is more food for them to eat. Now you can go into Anchor Bay and the mile roads on the American side and catch 20 fish a day trolling in summer and fall but will struggle to get 1 or 2 over 36 inches. This is with several people in the boat. Even the American guides who come from outside Michigan spend a lot more time on the Canadian side with their clients. Can you get 54 inchers on the American side - yes. At certain times of the year its easier over there. | |||

With the Peyton Manning like seasons he puts together are you surprised? Lets be honest. Spencer Berman is the 'top gun' in the muskie world right now. Elite. This was a great turnout for 35 boats on a tough bite. Thank you for the updates MuskieFIRST. Nobody else had them.

| Every few years we get a new hot fishery and new hot guides, then it settles down and very few stick around. Nature of the business.... | |||

Posts: 1220 | I think I am one of the really popular guys in the musky tournament world--even loved (OK that's a stretch) Why is that? Well a lot of it is (at least for the last several years) I'm not taking anybody's entry, not taking the trophies, no threat to anybody's guide book...no threat at all....clearly in the lower 20% of the trail. I just want to fish tournaments, go out to dinner with all the guys, travel, and have fun. I returned to this sport to spend money, not make it. Now, if you just look at a lot of this stuff, when a guy has a chance to be a hot stick on a hot lake, and he is also a good promoter, writer, presenter etc. AND HE's YOUNG....well a lot of guys are not going to like him. That's just the way it is. And, frankly, it takes a few years to learn how to "apologize a little, be surprised a little and deny just a little when people are puffing you up. I'm not close with Spencer (certainly cordial) and he's not in my "dinner club" on the trail, but here's what he did: he performed, solidly, consistenly ALL YEAR LONG won the Top Gun and deserves to be congratulated. Jealous stuff is for (I don't know where) and my goal is that my fish next year or some year will make you all forget about his fish. In the meantime, let the kid wear his crown.

Posts: 426 Location: Perryville, MO | I'm not a tournament fisherman at all and usually don't give a rat's backside for much of these conversations; nonetheless, I'm not sure JaRule is "overthinking" anything at all and I believe he made his point with relative grace. A point that (for some) needs to be voiced. He didn't question anything about Mr. Berman's abilities (which are quite obviously miles above and beyond most of us here) nor his character (which many have also noted to be exceptional). And again, while I haven't had the pleasure of meeting nearly any of the fine "sticks" that regularly hang out here, I just gotta say Junkman time and time again has words and wisdom that is worth taking careful note of by all. I tell ya, of all the folks that post (and no doubt there's a whole lot of guys that one could learn tons of muskie knowledge from) it's Junkman's rig (not just b/c it appears to be a sweet ride) that I'd most care to spend the day in. Humility is truly a nice characteristic. My guess is not only would conversation be enjoyable, but fish or no fish in the net one would learn a whole lot about angling (and maybe a few other things). Thanks for class-ing this place up from time to time, Junkman.

| Guys keep in mind as well Spencers partner is no slouch. Matthew is a great captain and guide on LSC . Between Matt and his bro they have put some astronomical numbers up the past few years and are very well respected captains on LSC. So between the 2 of them they make a great team abd are both young. | |||
