| So I popped a few holes today and discovered I have enough ice to fish tomorrow.
Last day of the season so I am going to give it a try. Anyone have any tips on ice fishing for muskie? I plan to use my fall sucker rods under big bobbers. I plan to start on the 7' weedline I was consistantly catching muskie the last 2 weeks unless someone has a better suggestion. Has anyone had sucess with first ice muskie fishing? Do you think I should start on the weedline or go for a deep hole?

| Get out the chain saw and cut a two hundred yard slot in the ice. The you could jog back and forth and call it a trolling run  |

| Yep have donor this before...used tip ups...what I do is take old arrow shafts and cut them 2inches shorter than the spindle of the tip up flatten the end of the arrow shaft and bolt on an o16 planner board release. Then you drill a hole for a hole8/32 machine screw in the tip up board about two inches from the spindleuse the insert for heads to screw the arrow shaft to your tip up. String the line from the line guide to your release this way the suckers can not tripyour flag. Use quick strikes and hit the fish as soon as you get to the tip up |
