Is there a difference in the hull design of say a 2002 Tuffy 1760 Osprey vs a 2009 Tuffy 1760 Osprey? I thought I had read somewhere that Tuffy changed their hull design around 2005 or 2006.

No. The interior and changeover to full composite were the alterations, the hull is identical.

Full Composite??? Was the floor made of wood in the older models? I’ve seen how the console has changed, what other differences?

I'm just curious as I'll be looking for a used one in spring & want to make sure there weren't problems with the older late 90's early 00's.

Thanks

Any properly maintained Tuffy, all the way back to 1976, could be as solid as the day it was built.

I'm not sure when the boats went to a full composite liner; I believe it was the late 90's. If you pull a seat base, it's easy to tell if the floor is composite. That said, if no one drills into the floor or transom in the laminated wood models and leaves an open hole, it will last nearly forever; that's how everyone built boats back in the 'day'.

If the boat you find interesting is solid now, it will be into the future if taken care of, check it out and look for areas where things were mounted and removed; make sure all holes are sealed. If the boat is older, re-seal engine bolts every few seasons, and reseal all seat base holes and other holes cut to install anything at all.
