Posts: 67 | Don't know yet, just ordered mine yesterday. I'm looking forward to working with it to observe deep structure and lake bottom around some of that structure. Also will use it to check out some old fish cribs and the surrounding area. Might even check out large schools of bait fish over deep water. Sounds like I'm cutting into my fishing time!! I have heard of people mounting it on the bow mount trolling motor to look for following muskies, don't know if that would work very well or not. It sounds like it would just be a distraction, but an interesting idea anway...

Posts: 76 | Hey Steve, I've used an Aqua-vu for the last couple years during the summer/fall for muskie fishing. A few things that it works good for: 1) Going out a week or two before the muskie opener and going around the breakline looking for weed growth, baitfish, and even muskies. The weeds change from year to year and the camera helps alot. It always seems that finding a new spot or two happens along the way also. 2) During muskie season; If it is dead calm and sunny and the fish seem to have slowed down some (yes, fish bite during these conditions) the guy in the back of the boat will reel in and use the camera to follow along the breakline while the guy in front casts and runs the boat. It sometimes shows that the fish moved off the structure and are using the deeper water. It can also be used to check out baitfish that are seen on the sonar. 3) During late fall, we sometimes slowly troll suckers on quick-strikes along weedlines and secondary breaklines. Using the camera to look in front of the boat is really cool. We saw baitfish, how the weedline runs, and also how muskies are relating to the weedline and breakline. Last fall in particular, we saw a number of muskies on the camera. After awhile, you can get a very good idea on how big the muskies are. I would say the camera is a great asset if used properly. Posts: 129 Location: Bemidji, MN- | This will be my first full year with one. I plan to use it heavily during the pre-season (hard to fish while using one) and occasionally during the season. Last year a friend loaned me one for a week and I learned a lot. I could see why one end of the bar always out-produced the other (great for finding "the spot on the spot"). Also, I saw fish that were pushed off the prime spots by fishing pressure. They don't seem to be bothered by the camera - even hit one on the edge of a weedline in the rump with the lens. Great for seeing how fish relate to cover, and what the bait fish in the area are.

Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | I am hooked! Craig Eversol (thanks Craig) was nice enough to let me borrow his and I am addicted! So far I have found a very cool structure on my home lake that I didn't even know existed. I checked out a couple of my favorite deep fall spots and saw first hand why they were good, also got a better feel for what the transition zones looked like on my lake. I think this is great to form a mental picture of what you are actually fishing and really helps you concentrate on fishing the structure you see "in your minds eye"///.....Also entertained the kids for hours as we watched perch, bluegills, smallies, etc swim by. Cory- PS....Craig you can have your camera back.....next year!!!! HEE HEE!

Posts: 1536 Location: God's Country......USA..... Western Wisconsin | Steve, I use mine as just another tool to help me figure out what is going on down there. Mostly used to locate structure or rather see exactly what structure is down there. Almost impossible to fish and use the camera at the same time but works great when used with one guy running the boat and one guy watching. My better half loves to use the camera while I fish. You will see things you never saw before and see lots of stuff you never knew existed. Bunches and bunches of fish that don't bite. Lots of fun looking at spots that are known fish producers. Sometimes gives you great ideas about where to look next.

Posts: 5 Location: beer city | The best part of having the camera has been our spring walley trip to hayward and looking at the schools of walleyes we have been anchored over. They turned out to be hoards of suckers! Also, finding the spot on the spot and being able to mark it on the GPS. Hard to beat. Roofer
