| Its a legendary technique. I don't keep track of numbers but I would say a 1/3 of my trolling fish in the past 3 years have came in the prop. |

Might there be some skepticism here?
Propwash trolling was around long before the internet, and this board, were ever conceived. It is amazing that fish can gather themselves and strike as fast as they actually do. When you are cruising along a bank at 5 mph, and you see a fish swim up off a deadfall and nail the bait before it clears the wood by 3-4 feet, you'll be convinced. And they do it as the boat runs right over their head in 4-5 feet of water, and I am certain they are willing to hit stuff in passing, even shallower. Out in the lake, it is even easier, and when they have more room to decide, they can certainly run it down from behind, below, and/or whack it from the side.
Trolling is simple, not rocket science. Seeing propwash hits might cause some jaw droppage at first, but you'll be a believer in short order. Not always the best trolling strategy, but one that works well in various waters. |

Location: WI | I'm guessing at least 40% of my trolling fish have come in the prop wash. Probably a couple dozen fish in the past 2-3 years. |

I have caught fish trolling in 5 to 6 FOW on a down rod with just the length of my leader out...(36")
I agree, dragging a diving lure behind your boat to catch a fish is simple. However, consistent trolling success requires a little more than just that...just sayin'

Location: Canada | Down rod on the back corner of the boat with 5' to 15' of line to a 5' leader takes a lot of fish for us.

| Oops, my first reply to your question was under the wrong "prop wash" thread.
Got 2 in the prop wash on my last day of the year on Lake of the Woods, 8 days ago.
A fairly high percent of our late fall trolling muskies come in the prop wash  |

Trolling is simple, not rocket science.

My answer to the question, about 5% of the time, mostly during the warmest months.
