Do you guys put splitrings on the front of your glide baits? Does it impact the action of the lure at all? I would think that it might actually increase the action of the lure by giving it a little more slack prior to the twitch. Just wanted some feedback from you glider experts before I throw a split ring on all of my gliders. I mainly throw majic makers and shakers.
Thanks

I usaully dont put split rings on my gliders if i have no trouble getting a snap on the eye. If its dfficult to get a snap on, than i put a split ring on to make it easier. I dont think the split ring makes it glide any better or worst. It's all what you have the most confidence in.

I split ring all my baits as I no longer use snaps, and I have not noticed any negative effects on any of my gliders. The only baits I somewhat question the rings on are those with real small line ties on them. On some of those it seems as if the split ring binds a bit. I have gone to a smaller ring on those baits and think I have cured that also. I really doubt you will have that issue with any gliders.

I love using a good split ring like Wolverine or Bucher on the front eye of my jerkbaits. I feel it helps me loose less fish and the action is better.

Adding a split ring to the nose of a glider can add more "swing" to the bait, but it can also help the leader catch the front hook and waist a cast.
Your best bet is to play around. All gliders are created a little differant.

Have fun!

Jason,
How does adding a split ring help you loose less fish?
