Both are good rods but i like the T.I. rods better. The M.I. rod are a lot heavier.

Both are great, fairly interchangeable in my opinion. Prefer to use Bull dawgs though, more available in my area.

Musky Innovations pounders trump TI Mega D's 100x over. The Mega D's (just the pounder series) do not run correctly- they are not weighted properly. The TI regular dawgs and mag dawgs run great though.

I agree. I like the Mag Super D's and regular sized ones, but the Mega D's are not the same. I believe I read on here James is discontinuing the Mega sized Super D's.

While I do not care for the MegaD shallow I think the MegaD heavy run identicle to a MI dawg. And at $12 for the TI MegaD vs $30+ for a MI pounder I will buy MegaDs all day long.

You can also add a bell sinker to the front hook if u do not like the action of a rubber bait. Works well for me.

Just an FYI, the shallow MegaD is to be used very slow and many find it to be unsuitable to be used as a trolling bait. It can be if used with weights on the nose or the first hook point. The heavy 13oz MegaD is perfect to us for trolling or for deeper use. Many of my customers cut the fins off to get it to run deeper and truer. Keep pumping the MegaD to get hits. for price, yes, we have them priced at $11.99 on special vs $30 + for competing Pounders. ***Internal sales- these sell about 10% that of a Reg/Mag SuperD so we have decided to liquidate them and concentrate on the Reg/Mag SuperD swimbaits that are selling like hot cakes for the price!!! You will see about 20 new custom colored SuperD lures at the shows in 2014 for Tackle Industries so enjoy Many are already on the TI website as well as may of our retailer websites.

Thanks
James

I've seen them at that price at multiple spots, though I'm seeing more and more $25 price tags now.

Rollie and Hellens. $29.99

I think Thorne Bros is also around $30

Thorne Brothers is $26.00 AND R&H is the same. You can spend $30.00 if you start getting into the hand painted models but for stock colors of the new plastic $26.00 seems to be the norm... To me its a fair price. As to what I use...my tag line should tell that story...

"Life is too short to use crappy gear"

That is why I buy TI SuperDs. Never had one fall a part on me yet.

I believe that's a recent price change. I know I was surprised to see it yesterday and I'm on that site almost every day.

Ok the low prices is a good thing but whats the difference vs pounder concerning the action?I also wonder if the weighing location is that different vs the mi pounders?

I believe MI Dawgs have more of a glide and the TI D's have more of a hop when jerking/ripping them.

You will get the most glide out of a TI MegaD shallow but you have to work it slow. For casting, the MI Pounder has a decent glide closely followed by the Pounder MegaD. They both have the same action for trolling. Nice thing about the TI MegaD is that they have the full body coil harness in them. The TI lures are durable baits.
