Posts: 365 | How much drag do you put in the reel for these thick rubber baits to get a solid hook set ?? ------ thanks ------ jim

| Fish swallow them...don't recommend using them unless you are targeting fish less than 45 inches... they come up from behind and suck swallow... | |||

Posts: 14 | I would of thought they would pursue it from behind and hit it from the side.

| Much different than a casting presentation...I know a very good guide a few years back that had 2 between 35 and 40 lbs that ate like that and died...choice is yours... | |||

Posts: 1023 | I'm sorry - that sounds like nonsense. Two fish die eating a bait and we use that as evidence. Why would a muskie be more likely to engulf a pounder vs a jake it believer????

| Funny....have never had a jake or believer engulfed.....guess i need to get into some bigger fish... | |||

| Easy solution, just troll a two pounder | |||

| I think the reason for fish engulfing dawgs vs jakes and other cranks is the dawgs being soft rubber fold when they chomp them i agree with rick, I also have 0 confidence on a straight retreive with bull dawg vs pumping,, not saying you cant catch fish doing it! | |||

Posts: 149 | One TI MegaD Pounder setup I use is 80ft line out with 10oz weight in front of a 36" trolling leader. Gets about 15' down at 2 mph.
