Posts: 639 Location: Bloomington, MN | I was texted a pic of this fish and the bump board pic a 6:04 AM yesterday from someone that doesn't know Mike Hulbert. How he got the photos...I don't know. He asked if I knew anything about the fish, and all I knew was there was only one person with multi-colored rubbery bling that could be the tail pincher! Mr. Hulbert you have proven yourself as a superior guide for the elusive once again! If the internet was a bit slow yesterday, blame this fish. Some may think if they had the time and money they could produce fish like Hulbert, Berman, Hammernick, Sondag,....etc., but actually most of us could barely keep up with their daily/weekly/monthly schedules. Please keep it up so we can at least live vicariously through your trimuphs while we plod through our daily existence. Edited by Clark A 10/3/2013 8:06 PM

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | Nershi - 10/3/2013 5:49 PM Congrats Mike & Bob on the giant! I would also be interested in the girth and estimated weight. Zib any pics of these fish? Did they have girth or just long and skinny? I haven't seen the pic of the 59 1/2. It was caught by someone my friend knows. Most likely the guy hasn't posted it online because of the area he caught it in would be a dead giveaway in the pic. I'm taking him at his word but would like to see the pic myself. As for the 58 that was caught back in 2008 you would have to dig through the pics on the MOMC website. The pic was also published in the local news paper (Detroit Free Press I think it was). That was a summer fish so it didn't have the large girth.

Posts: 231 | Awesome fish, Mike!!! Congrats to you and your client. I know how hard you work and your passion. Once again, paying off for you BIG time! I also love how a guy can say "this is not a LSC record, and not a 50lb fish" LOL! Because he was there & knows for sure.... Right! Clark A was spot on with his post. Mike keep posting pics of your success, and I promise I'll keep on enjoying every bit of it, wishing it was me! Hahaha Chas

Biggest I am aware of that was registered in MOMC are in the 56" range. Premonition registered a 56 1/4 Almost Paradise registered a 56 1/8 Tureen registered a 56 or 56 1/8 I don't have all the records in front of me, but this is what I recall. I think the 58" you are referring to was not registered in MOMC. IMO - It was a ploy to sell baits at a larger outdoor sporting goods store.

Huge fish caught on Hulbert's boat, no doubt. Congrats Mike & Bob. "guest" - your memory is correct on the "registered" fish above. Added some more details to those fish, in your quote. Zib - Correct, there was a "58 inch fish" landed in 2007. Fish was not MOMC verified or certified. It was landed on Big Tuna Charters in June, by a Gander Mountain employee, who signed an affadivit about the length, for what its worth. Edited by Contender 10/7/2013 9:02 AM
