Posts: 720 | Somebody PM'd me and suggested that Mike's fish had been caught previously in my boat on June 9th/2009. It was 55 inches at the time. In my photo there is a fresh scar behind the gill cover, which has healed up in Mike's photo, plus a distinct dark spot above the anal fin. I've looked at a bunch of my pics and it could be the same fish. Any opinions? Attachments ---------------- 55X24#1.JPG (176KB - 180 downloads) | ||

| In my opinion they are not the same fish. Look really close at the spots along the stomach...the patterns do not match. I'm no expert but I would not think the spots would change over time. Both massive fish for sure though. | |||

| I think Bondy caught the fish when it was heavier. In the Bondy photo the fish is near the body where as in the recent photo the angler is leaning back on the floor with the fish thrown forward. Looks more girth in Bondy photo to me as that kneel on the floor pose really make fish a lot heavier then they are. I know the tv guides like that pose to make the fish look huge. Both nice 42-45 pound fish but not lake record. OP got a nice fish for his clent so not taking away from him. There was another big one caught and hopefully they post the pics soon. Was 28 inch girth and 55 inches from St. Clair. St Clair fish formula well but do not scale as well as that fish was 47 pounds. | |||

| Not the same fish. Digital imaging is a wonderful thing. Hulbert's client gets to keep his catch credibility. | |||
