Location: Northern Illinois | Ok...I was wondering what different techniques you use for Shore Sitting with Suckers out soaking. Do you range the depths? specific distances from shore? specific sized suckers that work best? weather or wind play a major factor in your decisions?
I know a lot of people that just take the suckers out a ways and hope for the best. Yes, they have caught fish but it seems like there would be a more successful strategy to use.
Thoughts? |

Location: St. Germain, Wi | I don't think that would work well with quick strikes. They used to take the sucker with a swallow rig to the middle of the lake in a boat and go sit on shore by a fire. They were keeping the fish of course. |

| You need plenty of firewood, 30 pack of PBR and a dozen brats and you'll be golden! |

| We do it every season--late in the year---have a couple spots where we can shore fish and contact a steep rocky break into deep water. we use the quick strike rigs on a slip bobber to control our depth and they work great. Usually run several lines at varying depths. Caught quite a few fish using this method. And depending on the wind we do sometimes use a boat to set out our rigs-----But with the right wind we can just cast them out and let them float. |
