Has anyone tried Tica casting or spinning reels? How were they?

| Dennis, the hi speed Ticas are supposedly pretty good, as are the Diawa Emblem series; the 4500 for basic surf/boat fishing, and will cast farther because of spool design. As far as LOW maintenance and long lastability, the Diawa BG30 for rockfish, BG20 for sea trout etc...won't cast as far as the Emblem series, but will last for years, and you can fool w/ them yourself...and of course there are always the dependable Penns! |

Location: Eau Claire, WI | Two seasons ago I purchased one of their bait casting reels. I was told that they have Calcuta gears in them. (not sure how true)
Other than the 4.1:1 ratio (which I don't use that often) it is a good reel.
Casts good, reels smoothly, and I like that the star wheel for the drag is very accesable not tucked in so tight.
If they made a baitcaster in a 5.3:1 or higher I would be hard pressed not to buy another one.
