Just wondering how everybody has there clips on there off shore planer boards for trolling. I have the OR-18 clips on the front which work great never come off, the only down fall when fighting a fish when the boards is under water. Does anybody do something different so the front clip release to fight the fish.

Having the board stay on while fighting a fish makes no difference to me.

Not a fan of offshore boards but the OR-16 clip has the pin and would be the one I use.

The OR18's are rock solid. They're the best. That's what Dennis Radloff uses.

all these walleye planer board are really not that good for lure over 8 inch that are trolled at high speed, they make the lure stay way too close to the boat wish is imo almost useless.

I have the Church lock-jaw clips on my TX 44's. That release is rock solid. It holds braid and harder pulling baits at high speeds. It will not slip and will have to be manually released when fighting a fish. If that's what you want, you will like them.

Get yourself a mast and some real boards then. In-lines are a PIA anyway, IMO. You could probably do what you want with Church TX 44's and the lock-jaw releases though.

I have been trolling this year with the tx44's and no problems getting 8inch baits away from the boat. Bigger baits and anything over 3.5mph and they seem to drag behind the boat. Can I weight them and different to help with keeping bigger baits out? Also planned on upgrading the clips and havnt decided yet between the or18s or lockjaws.
