Gentlemen,

Where are you guys getting your Flashabou? The Flashabou that I have been able to get is the real fine stuff. I have also tried the Salt water Flashabou, but that is pretty thick at 1/16 in. I noticed that the manufactured Cowgirls have a Flashabou somewhere in between as far as thickness. Where have the best prices been found, and has anybody found the thickness that I am referring to?

I'm just putting a few baits together for my own personal satisfaction and not looking to market any baits.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Dean

I've been getting it at Thorne Brothers over on the fly angler side. Cabala's also has it for a little cheaper, but they don't have the number of colors Thornes does.

The Flashabou used on the Cowgirls is a special cut only available to manufacturers. We are working with the manufacturer to be able to get this in our catalog.

Flashabou used to be available at wholesale to anyone with a tax id number (which even the smallest manufacturers should have) and a $100 minimum order. You can contact the mfg. directly for wholesale information if you have a real business.

Try using saltwater flashabou. It is a little thicker than the stuff you find at fly shops and doesn't get knotted up as much

Cheapest I found without a federal tax ID is Essox Assualt Tackle. They sell bulk hanks in 64" & 128" lengths 1/32" wide. Not a very wide color selection but they can custom mix the colors for you.

Tackle Industries also sells pre-tied coils of flashabou. Priced pretty good when you consider what a pain that stuff is to tie.
