Just wondered what lodge on this lake is in the best location to get to good musky spots?

Info on the lodges themselves would be appreciated also

thanks

Dave

Stayed at Cedar Point Resort. Thought it was a good location. Fishing sucked, but we had a huge algae bloom and mayfly hatch. Still caught some fish, just not what we were hoping for.

Top raiders seemed to be the go to up there.

I've stayed here a few times.http://www.clarksresorts.com/northern-lights/

Nice cabins, good people running the place.
As far as the fishing, it's good everywhere.

We stayed at Cedar Lake Camp last year, the camp has new owner's this year. No fancy lodge, just good clean facilities, docks, etc. clean boats (if you don't bring your own) Jerry & Ellie ran a top notch operation, I don't see why it wouldn't continue to be so.... It's on the bucket list for 2014, just have to sort the bucket to a finalist. It's hard not to go back to a lake where your fishing partner thinks you need a bigger net! LOL - it was priceless seeing the look on his face.... "Al, we need a bigger net!"

Times Square gets the center of attention for muskie's on Cedar -> where PointerPride stayed, its also the most central resort location on the lake.

Have fun!
Al

This lake can beat your ass, just like any other muskie lake in the world, e.g., if you don't do your homework!

Dave- Take the Cedar Lake challenge, its an experience of its own.

I was up there once for week. Fishing was tough. I was still fairly new to musky fishing as well. Stayed at Ellie's place. It was decent.

Caught one fish. But it was a decent.

If you are not bringing your own boat up there, Northern Lights is prob the best camp to stay at.. They give you the best boats on the lake, and unlimited everything.. All boats have 40 hp electric start, and if no one is in camp they will give u an upgraded cabin with A/C, satellite TV, and an upgraded boat with a 50 hp and 17 ft crestliner..

We have stayed there 3 times and they have upgraded us everytime for no extra charge.

Not sure when Pointer said he went, but Topraiders have never moved many fish for me.. Had a few nice ones move on them one year, but overall you would prob have much better luck on walk the dog baits. Lots of thick cabbage beds to rip spinner baits and smaller bucktails thru. Depending on when u go, some of the cabbage gets too thick to work double 10's thru. Just gotta experiment with what works.

Definitely agree with this. Clarks is great. Now that Jeff and Connie are gone it is still in good hands. Wayne and karla are good folks who run a great camp. WTD baits are killer, topraiders, not so much. You have to fish a lake more than once to get a good pattern, something pointer probably hasn't done on Cedar.

I agree, i elkman. I love the lake, and there are a lot of big fish in it. A lot of people complain about the traffic on the lake, but ive rarely been in the same bay with other hardcore musky guys.. Ive seen other people in bays fishing, but they are just pounding the shallows typically where the fish aren't anyway.

It will take you a few trips to learn the lake and patterns at certain times of the years. This year was totally diff, as i moved 0 fish where I moved all my fish last year, and it was the same time of year. Everything was behind, so we had to try a lot of new spots, but had a lot of action.
