Fished the NE side Eagle Lake last week for my first time up to the lake. I stayed at Fin and Feather and let me say Kim and Bruce are great people to be around and run a great camp. Cabins were clean, close to the docks, and by far had the nicest guest lounge of any camp I've stayed at. I'd highly recommend anyone looking at that side of Eagle to check out their camp.

The week started off kind of tough with blistering hot weather and then rough post frontal conditions mid week. I had no action on rocks alone...had to be some sort of weed growth along with it. I didn't see a ton of fish, but the ones I did were real nice ones. On Thursday I was finally able to break the ice and get a new personal best 47 incher. On the very next cast I landed my biggest pike ever at 35 inches. I also hooked what felt like a real nice fish, but it bulldogged down into the weeds and got off.

Overall it was a real nice experience and I'm pretty happy with it being my first time on the lake. One thing I'll say is that part of the lake is by far the easiest to navigate that I've ever been on...nothing like some of the trout waters I've been on. Yes there were some unmarked hazards, but as long as I went slow they were easy to see. I was also amazed at just the amount of structure down past Coleman's reef.

Best lures for me was a red/yellow shumway flasher, black bucktail with copper blade, and a medium sized hog wobbler. Only raised a 2 fish on big baits for the week.
