Hey fellas,

I have and older Ranger 681 and I LOVE IT!!!
but I am installing a stereo and I have a gambrel mount for it so I don't have to cut into the dash. I would like to install a shelf under my console to accommodate it.......I know a number of newer boats already have this feature. Has anyone build a shelf for their rig that would be willing to give some pointers?

I was thinking possibly using Trex decking?

Best,

MS

Get a sheet of aluminum and either add a lip by having someone bend it or add 1" angle then carpet.

I made one for a friend. Use cardboard to make a template if your console is curved. Use 1/2 plywood carpeted on top. I used L clips to attach to sides and front. 6 should do it. You shouldn't need marine plywood, as it's under the console, and won't get too wet. Plus, if it does, it's open all sides, so it will dry quickly.

ETrex is kind of flexible. Too flexible for this, I think.
