I also posted this in the Boat forum, but wanted to post it here as well as I know how artistic all the member of this site are and I bet some of you have already done this and made it look great. Thanks in advance!!

I have and older Ranger 681 and I LOVE IT!!!
but I am installing a stereo and I have a gambrel mount for it so I don't have to cut into the dash. I would like to install a shelf under my console to accommodate it.......I know a number of newer boats already have this feature. Has anyone build a shelf for their rig that would be willing to give some pointers?

I was thinking possibly using Trex decking?
