Location: Land of the Musky | Do many of you use these rod mesh products to help protect your rods? I may start to sell my rods with these already on the rods so each rod would come with one. I would also sell them in single packs. just seeing if you guys would like these. I would make them to fit 9' rods but of course you could just cut them back for your shorter rods. Just seeing what kind of interest there would be. My sales price for them would be $5.99. I think most sell for $8-$15. Any color preference? I was thinking black with a gold cross hatch for the ones that come on my rods and for the singles, maybe 4 colors (Black with these colors mixed in: red, yellow, green, blue)

They should expand for the 2pc rods. Then you can just cut them down to fit.
Sounds like a plan to make them and include them on future rods... |

| I use them regularly for transporting rods both while rigged and bare. When rigged they really eliminate getting lines tangled between rods. When bare, and transporting rods in a rod tube, it really seems to help with getting rods in and out of the tube.
At your proposed price point, I'd definitely buy some and know friends that would as well.

| Tackle Industries - That is an awesome entry price and yes, I currently use them on all of my rods. I get a discount through Tackle Warehouse.com and it still costs me about $6-7 after my discount. Plus, they only have 3 colors I believe (red, black & blue) that even come close to fitting musky rods.
Rod sleeves also make it a dream to get rods in and out of rod lockers (especially mine where it does not have a "slot" for each individual rod. I probably get 50-60% more rods in my locker now after using these.
The twist and crossed patterns always look sweet! |

| these are an absolute dream for organization. It also allows you to put more than one rod in each rod tube of the rod locker, with out them getting tangled up. I have two and three walleye rods in some tubes, due to these things. They are awesome. |

Location: Chippewa Falls, WI | as a disclaimer I have 4 of James' rods and love them but as for the rod mesh tubing...I just ordered Cabelas rod covers that have a PVC like end to them to cover musky lures if you want to leave them on the rod for storage or even on the deck. They have an anjustable velcro system so the same one covers my 7' and 9' telescoping rod even fully extended. They are usually on sale for $7.99. I would think these mesh ones might be more likely to get hooks tangled up in them compared to these other covers. The covers you are looking to market appear to be useful and popular especially at that price point. I think the ones from Cabelas appear to be superior for musky tackle and not that much more $ considering what we pay for the rods, reels, and tackle.

| I have a bunch of the 9 footers I got at the happiest place in MSP; Thorne Brothers. Pair them with one of these

and you have the ultimate travel system. There only weakness in these is that they consume hooks so if are using them with snaps or hooks attached to the rod hook catcher they do tangle easily. |
