Posts: 1638 Location: Minnesota | it comes down to what end of the lake you want to fish.what are you looking for are you bringing little kids are you going to just fish there are a lot of things to consider .if your going to go to a resort Vermilion Dam Lodge gets my vote its in the middle of the lake and you can fish either end. another way to go is "homes for rent by owner" I have done this 2 times and would do it again.I think you get a better cabin private dock .I have stayed at some places and the cabin next to you are there to party.as for time of year aug or sept would get my vote vermilion is a fun lake to fish.

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | I would pick one between and, including these two, spring bay and glenwood lodge. look at the website, look at tge resorts and their amenities and compare them to your needs. lots of great resorts in the lake. I have stayed at glenwood lodge like it alot as it fits my needs the best. trancheffs, life of riley and forest lane are good too have stayed there as well. Edited by ToddM 7/16/2013 6:26 PM

Posts: 77 | Stay at Ed's place; Vermillion Dam Lodge. Great people/hospitality and he's got some of the best guides on the lake staying over there. Ed's a good fisherman himself and a good guy to talk to. http://vdl.com

Posts: 2015 | "best resort"? Depends on what you are looking for? Inexpensive? Great rental boats? Cabins with decks hanging over the water? West side? East Side? Central? Lots of places to stay on V - I've stayed @ half a dozen places they all have pros and cons. Edited by IAJustin 7/18/2013 4:22 PM

Posts: 94 | Vermilion dam lodge is a great place located in the middle of the lake, short ride to either end, great cabins lots of activities for the kids even a nice pool. The american plan there is great the food is amazing. He has the 2 best musky guides on the lake there. He is a super nice guy and the staff there are falling over themselves to help you. Real nice rental boats although I brought my own. I think the prices may be a little higher but ive stayed at other places on the lake as well as around the country and ill glady pay the extra $100 a week. The only thing i didnt like was i wish he would assign dock spaces for the cabins that werent right on the water.
