You should hit it perfect, weather permitting.
East side has been slow, for me. Got one on a bucktail, tonight.
Action should get better, soon.
Good luck!

Hey guys looking for some help here on Vermilion this week/time of year. My family has a place near Frazier but only get up one week a year. I've spent quite a bit of time throwing double tens on basically every spot I know around the area and haven't seen a thing. Water temp was 76 when I got here but dropped to 71 yesterday. It's back up to 72/3 now this afternoon. Anyone have any advice? Feel free to shoot me a PM if that is preferred. Good fishing!

no one's going to tell you what's really going on. Hire a guide and make the experience worthwhile.

People ALWAYS say that Vermilion is Sooooo, Overated,...... Well to be honest with ya, it is.

You guys want info that may be a week late, or info that "the Locals/ regulars" have put together after 100,s of hrs on the water....... P.S.(you won't get much from them)
And then there are guys that fish for 3-4 (weekend days) in a row and only see or land a couple of fish. WTH ! Why ? because they fish the SAME COMMUNITY SPOTS every time they go to Vermilion...... It's a BIG lake, with LOT'S of Muskie Structure,.... Find it, Hit it Hard,. and fish it like it's your last day of fishing !

Other than my rant,.... The next few weeks Will be primeo timeo for some Giant fish to hit someone's net..... I'll be out there,.... Look for the Screaming Eagle.

Jerome do you work or guide for Steve at spring bay? I ended up putting a 47" in the net the other night on a Dadson double 10. Which side of the lake due you hit the most. Looks like the casting bite mid lake is still pretty slow.

I've been blessed to be working construction near V and have fished it for 17 seasons,... The last 8-9 on the west end,....As far as Spring Bay goes, They are like a family to me... I've lived there for the last 5-6 yrs..... even in the wintertime...
You couldn't have asked The Lord for a better bunch of people.

I haven't been there for 3-weeks but plan on being back for the rest of the season starting next week,....and let's just say when I'm up there I know what's going on daily from the people that I've met over the last 17 yrs.

Most everybody that spends time on V will tell ya, that the muskies don't jump into the boat like they did years ago...... It's almost like work these days ! Oh, but what a Fun Job.
I am Truly a Blessed Man to have met and lived with Steve, Joe ,and their families at Spring Bay.

My son and I spent a week last year at Sprinbay Resort with the Amundsons and indeed they are wonderful people. Joe and Steve went out of their way to help us with finding fish. We certainly look forward to our next trip.

The problem with the community spots is that they all hold giant fish, it's hard to leave them to find others. You see them but in my opinion they're not interested in eating anything, because they just did. Wel'll be at spring bay in a month. Hoping for another giant to make a mistake.

Brad, True....There are big fish on those spots,...But sometimes their a few casts off of those spots......... (looking for food) or transitioning to the next bay/rock pile over......via the shore line or current pathway,..... does this make any sense to anyone but me?
Nothing more frustrating than seeing all those big fish (for days at a time) and not even boating one.......
I've had more eaters away from the "community spots" in the last 5 yrs. than from those well known spots...
4 out 5 of the largest fish I've seen on V in the last 5 yrs , have been on spots that most people never fish.... Really Big fish !

The key to the V is timing. Plan your sleeping/eating around the days majors and minors. get your run of spots you love and hit them at key times.

Water temps on the West End Basins are 76-77* today with a cold front coming in the next day or so...water temps will drop.
The weeds are looking really good this summer
Fished 8 hrs today after a thunder storm moved thru and only saw 1 nice sized muskie follow a dawg ....rock and weed combo, and caught a high 30" Pike in the weeds on a glide bait..
