Posts: 22 | There's alot of companies who make really nice musky bucktails but i'm just wondering who does everybody think makes the best one and why? I've been lookin at tackle industries dominatrix bucktails and think they have great color patterns and look awesome. Anybody with any input on them?

Posts: 30 | I don't want to hijack you thread, but this might go along with it. I have been having problems with a certain name brand's blades getting started. Have you guys found any blades that will consistently spin without some type of prodding?

Posts: 94 | I like glittertails i was turned on to them by a guide on a rather large lake in northern minnesota. They have quality construction good components blades fire right up everytime. also the blade units are interchangeable and are weighted or unweigthed. He has a ton of colors for tinsel and more blades than ive ever seen. google glittertails. he will custom make them whatever you need. Spanky baits are real nice too (IMO). I do not work for either company im a pipefitter from chicago

Posts: 300 | I really like Spanky Baits. Heavy construction from tip to tail. Even if a fish crushes them, they can be bent back to "straight". My wife got her pb this year on a Spanky DBL 8. To top it off, Dan is a great guy, and will build anything you could possibly dream of.

Posts: 152 | Going off what Musk E stated above, usually a good snap of the wrist/rod after the lure enters the water gets almost all of the stubborn ones started. Most of the time I think it is more of me engaging the reel too late after the lure enters the water than the actual lure itself. With that being said, the Musky Safari spinnerbaits with the "moon" blades (I believe they are called?) are the trickiest ones I have to get going and keep going. It is hard to slow roll them in my experience. I haven't had even a look at these yet, but then again there is a time and place for each lure. I would imagine in a high pressure area, maybe these goofy-bladed spinners would get a look because it is something different and probably puts off a whole different vibration underwater.

Posts: 152 | Forgot to answer the original post. Never fished a dominatrix, but my favorites are the Double and Jr Double CGs. Lazer Shad and Black or Black/Chart. Flame ones get a lot of use in my rig.

Posts: 149 | I hated the older Tackle Industries double 10s with the 040 blades but love the new ones with the 032 blades on them. The blades really kick out new and don't warp llike the 024 blades. Also really like the new TI double 8s. James made some nice improvments over the years to his tails and you can't beat his price for D10s at $15 and D8s at $14. Like the Essox and Spanky tails too. They use good blades and components on theirs too and they run really well.
