Location: Minneapolis, MN | I've only used flashabou/tinsel bucktails so far and I'm wondering what the advantage/disadvantage of the marabou bucktails are. |

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | They each have their place. I think marabou casts nicer once it's wet but can be chewed up a bit quicker. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | Personally I like both, and like said above, they both have their place. IMO Marabou has a more realistic and natural movement in the water (that's saying that we actually see realism in bucktails in the first place) as well as the added casting ability when wet. It is worth to have a few different kinds in your box. That goes for Deer Hair bucktails also.
My favorite marabou baits are those made by Muskie Underground. Super full marabou, big profile and they just straight catch fish. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | blades and a bent up/re-bent wire contribute more than what is wrapped around it ... the ones that are perfect get less action than the ones that have had to be "repaired". lighter crooked wire for me ... |

Location: West Metro, MN | I really like the way marabou casts and breathes in the water, but they are definitely not as durable as flashabou. I would have to guess that I use both materials about equally. |

I'm sorry but what does that mean?
All marabou colors are died into the material. Thus when used a lot (or used in pools) the colors will bleed overtime. But with any luck it will get ripped apart by fish long before you need to replace the marabou due to bleed out. |

Location: Wisconsin | The colors will bleed out, I have had some that dulled out in a month, but also the tails take a long time to dry out and this leads to rusting hooks. |

| Do you get the jointed or straight versions? I ordered my first one today but got a straight wire one. Just curious what your opinion is, one vs the other. |

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | Personally I have never used a straight one. I like the jointed ones. IMHO it gives you more flexability when it comes to blade size and color. The Marabou baits I get from Adam Redlin of Muskie Underground are all jointed. So when I get one, I will get an extra set of blades with a different color combo along with it so I can change color combinations depending on conditions or what the fish are telling me. Because of this ability I don't think I will ever buy a straight one. |
