Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | Pics speak for themselves. Any options here? Guess I will be shopping for a new net. Kicker is I just put a brand new bag on it. Attachments ---------------- image.jpg (104KB - 124 downloads)

Posts: 280 | I would try and reform the the hoop and purchase a new handle if the pricing makes sense. Maybe use a tree and some muscle...

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | If you fish alone grab the frabil big game. If you always fish with a partner grab the big kahuna. Frabils netting is awesome.

Posts: 1224 Location: Okoboji | Is the big game the power catch right below the kahuna. I am borrowing my buddies kahuna for the weekend since he is working

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I'd be curious to know what happened! I'm guessing it wasn't from netting a fish? If you weren't happy with some part of the Beckman, I have been using a Frabill Big Game for years. I love it. Easy enough to handle alone (though it will be heavier than your Beckman), and the netting seems pretty fish friendly and is VERY tangle free. The Kahuna would be awesome but maybe a bit on the heavy side to handle alone. Not sure, I never used one.

Posts: 166 Location: Merrill, Wisconsin | I say either ran over, or someone let some kids jump in and out of it way to much. Or it met a metal door hard haha

Posts: 27 | I did the same, thing, went to a metal supply store and just pick up a piece of aluminum tube, 8ft by 1"1/4 diam by 1/8 thick, should be less than 10 bucks, drill a couple holes for the snaps and you are all set, that is if the hoop is good

Posts: 27 | sorry, 1/16th thickness, 1/8th is the thickenss of rod holders, ie berts lol

Location: sneaking out to get on the water ;-) | Yes the big game is the power catch one down from big kahuna.

Posts: 147 Location: Milwaukee, WI | How does a net "fly out" ? Its a net, how could the wind get under it to lift it? I always carry my net on the floor in the boat while trailering. No problems for years & hundreds of miles traveled.

Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | I bought a Beckman for the weight...but switched to a Big Game and glad I did. I don't think Beckman is a bad net...just that I like Frabil better. Now could be a good time to make the switch...
