Location: minocqua, wi. | if they are chasing bucktails, it's your highest percentage for hooking up in the 8. do some searching on this site for some "how-to's".
key is to line em up and not tie-em into a knot. line up the approach and jaz em up with speed down the first stretch going deeper and then a big, wide up out and around ... they will usually hit coming out of turn 1 and as you exit turn two (look for the bait to disappear cuz you won't always "feel" it) ... long and wide are the key.
one guarantee on the 8 ... you CANNOT feed the fish and you can't take a bait away from one that will eat.
you have to change their attitude ... once you learn to do that you won't be able to stop them from eating your bait.

| They have to be pretty on to hit a bucktail on Harriet. IMO anyway.
I would try fishing low light or dark or burn those bucktails and try to get them to hit away from the boat.
Never hurts to try smaller rubber, topwater or erratic jerkbaits to get them to hit.
