Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | So I was talking with my wife last night about lure purchasing. We all know that there is really no such thing as too many or enough. But we also know that you could probably catch all your fish on ten select lures. The wife thinks I have enough and I say there are still things I would like or need. I currently own about 75. All have seen water, 30% have caught at least one fish. So my question to you is... How many lures do you think you own? (guestimate) Any pictures of pretty walls full of baits are appreciated as well.

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I'd say after the show season this winter I have about 100 or a little more. I have more than I need. I have some lure categories that I don't use much anymore, but seems like I can't make myself sell them (never know when that one could be THE bait ). I need to get into trolling more than I have so it seems like I've been buying some trolling baits at the shows lately, but other than that it's been harder to feel the NEED to buy more baits when I go to the shows. I am just starting to venture into making some of my own baits, and I think that could be a fun hobby, along with the enjoyment of catching fish on my own homemade baits. Here's a picture of the bait rack before any shows this winter. Tucker Attachments ---------------- 003a.jpg (142KB - 131 downloads)

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Uh oh, I realized that rack only has rubber, bucktails, and cranks on it. No topwater or jerkbaits. Maybe I have 120-140.

Posts: 2015 | who knows? Is a tube and three replacement bodies 1 lure? How about a dozen 1oz creature heads and 100 plastics that could fit it? Have over 100 destroyed by fish/ "retired", around 80 active topwater.... my guess is over 500,but less than a 1000 for me

Posts: 1906 Location: Oconto Falls, WI | These are the ones that sit the bench most of the time with a few "gamers" that need to be put back in boxes. Not shown are my "gamers" as well as a few totes of unopened baits that are backups to my gamers. Also are two or three boxes fullof baits needing repairs of some sort. My gamers fill a med. lakewood, a Monster lakewood, and somewhere around a dozen plano clear boxes. I would say my gamers are close to or more than my benchers. I got sick of buying hooks to hang my lures up! BenR - 6/18/2013 1:08 PM I got a bit crazy this winter and was up around 75, got it back down to the 20 or so level. BR I proabely have about 20 Muskie Rod and Reel set-ups, let alone lures. I would say I am in the neighborhood of 250 lures, but only about 100 make the usual trips with me.

BR I know you can only throw one at a time but c'mon man. You can't be serious... Used to have hundreds, but now it is pretty much around 20. A couple suicks, couple gliders, couple cranks, couple bucktails, couple top water, couple swim baits. They all fit in 3 large clear plano boxes. When they no longer fit I know it is time to sell a few. BR

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | About a half a million musky lures and rods I think there was about 140 pallets of lures in this building when I took the pictures last month. Its much cleaner and organized now. This is warehouse 1 of 2. For reference, this building is 173' x 54' and there is a 4x4 tractor way at the back that you can't see due to the pallets being stacked so high. Now I just need time to use them! LOL The real funny thing is, when I do get the chance to go fishing I usually only take 3 or 4 Plano boxes with me and that's it. Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | Nice I love all the pics of the walls. Hopefully one day my wall can look like that. There was a thread a while back about bulldagws and how much people had, I remember seeing a picture that Spencer Berman posted of his wall of "dawg glory" and was wondering if anyone knew of the thread and could help me find it? I have been searching for about an hour and so far no dice. Otherwise keep the pics coming of your crazy bait stashes. Im going to try and find time today to put my 75 baits up on pic on this thread later

Posts: 994 Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | Why count them and spoil your fun? The real challenge as I see it is to keep them so they are displayed or accessible by lure type/size/ depth of water covered, etc... that has always been a challenge for me. How many times have you gone to the storage looking for just that one bait that fits the ticket, only to find that it is not there? I still have one bait that I have been searching for, for three years now!!
