Really tough! Only one legal fish caught -34.5 Ironman is always a good time though.

I heard like a dozen boats for the tourney. The take a vet fishing outing was great though, muskies didn't cooperate much but the bass guys and panfishing boats did great. Right around 75 vets and 45 guides took part and had a fantastic cookout at McDaniel park on the shores of Waubesa after a few hours of fishing. The veteran that I took out is a local so we will be hooking up again to get him a musky.

I commend you guys for doing that. We have a little Vets outing on Pewaukee Lake that I enjoy fishing every year. You guys do it right, though, and go for more than just muskies. I like that.

This was a particularly challenging weekend for tournaments. Besides the Ironman, there was a tourney on the Fox Chain that grabbed several regulars, two one-day events for the WMT at Bone and Wapo., as well as the Headwater's chapter Spring Classic of Champions in Eagle River that drew 75 teams. There are always two or three weekends every summer where there are just too many choices. Most Ironman stuff is early and late before and after most other stuff is over, and I think you'll see big numbers at the fall events. Honestly, this was a really tough choice for me this past weekend as I am a regular on 3 of the 4 that were held.

Does anyone know if there are any other similar events involving veterans yet this summer? If so, could you please share details?

Thanks,

Goose

Goose:

The Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies Inc has been running a Vets outing for a number of years now. Attached is a link to our website that goes into it in further detail.
